After nearly 15 years, Tabasco Lang returns.

This was one of my favourite stories that appeared in my mini-comic Bubonix back in the mid- to late-90s. It was also the one that got the most positive reaction from readers. For both those reasons, I was eager to find a way to revisit the character and bring him to the modern world of webcomics. So here he is. For those of you who only know me as the creator of The Crown Prince, this is a bit of a change, but probably more in terms of setting rather than type of humour.

For a very long time, I’ve been a huge fan of the whole noir genre. But as much as I enjoy the crime/gangster movies of my generation like Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction, I’ve got a real soft spot for the older films like The Killers and The Killing (a perfect double-bill if there ever was one). I don’t read much modern crime novels, but in the past year, I’ve become a huge fan of the Parker novels by Richard Stark (pseudonym for Donald E. Westlake) starting with those written in the 1960s. There are a lot of bits and pieces of the genre that can be found sprinkled throughout Tabasco Lang and I plan on touching on a lot of these topics while reprinting this 106-page story.

For starters, we’ll work with updates every Monday and Friday and see how it goes. As always, I look forward to hearing your comments.

The site is still being fine-tuned. I appreciate your patience as I tweak it to perfection.
